Painting, printmaking, installation and animation intersect in this work which highlights the role of Mohammed's wife, Hafsah, in scribing and preserving the Quran. It will be done in installments. The first version will be on display in September/October 2022 at the Phipps Center for the Arts, in Wisconsin. The second will be exhibited in Saint Catherine G Murphy Gallery in Saint Paul in November/December, 2022 and the third in Rosalux Gallery in Minneapolis in August 2023. The painting on the right is a close up study of a life size painting of Hafsah (Peace Be Upon Her) showing her writing. The background will be an Islamic geometric pattern that covers a wall of 15 feet x 11 feet. Part of that space will display a short animation film.
