Videos

This is a floor mural for the set design I made for a play called "Zafira and the Resistance". There is a 30x16 foot eagle that has multicolored feathers. The feathers contain repetitive images and calligraphy. I made this video by walking around the painting then added the original sketches. The soundtrack is from Fairuze's song "The girl from Sevilla" البنت الشلبية.
Written by Kathryn Haddad the founder of New Arab American Theater Works in Minneapolis,  this  compelling play takes a critical look at Arab American identity, institutional racism, the generational struggles and fears of Arabs and Muslims and the possibility of collective punishment.
